PACE Crisis Management Certificate (CMC-PACE) Information

Gain the skills you need to take charge in a crisis.

In collaboration with PACE Centre, NWP is proud to offer leading-edge training in best practices for crisis response. Consisting of six core courses plus twelve hours of elective courses, this certificate is designed for anyone who wants to improve their skills in crisis prevention and intervention and is ideal for professionals working in health care, law enforcement, and social work. Our interactive workshops are facilitated by skilled, caring professionals with decades of experience in personal crisis management and de-escalation.

Learners will gain the knowledge needed to respond to and de-escalate a range of personal crises, including mental health emergencies, suicidal behavior or ideation, sexual assault and trauma, self harm, and intimate partner violence. You will learn tools for calm, effective, and compassionate communication with a person in crisis, including techniques for active listening, risk assessment, and self-care during and after an incident. Learners will also gain a comprehensive understanding of the community resources available for people experiencing different types of crises.

Special Notice
To achieve a Crisis Response Certificate, you must complete the required courses, plus a minimum of 12 hours of elective courses.  Courses may be taken as part of the Crisis Response Certificate or as stand-alone courses.
All courses must be taken through PACE for credit towards the certificate.

  • First Responders to Sexual Assault & Sexual Abuse (CRM06)
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) (CRM08)
  • Working with Children Affected by Trauma (CRM10)
  • Mental Health First Aid (CRM12)
  • Grief and Resiliency (CRM11)


Elective (12 hours minimum):
Full day (7 hours):

  • Intimate Partner Violence (CRM02)
  • Awareness of Self Harming Behavior (CRM09)
  • Impacts of Sexual Violence, Exploitation and Social Media: Children and Youth (CRM20)


Part-day (3 hours):

  • Introduction to Professionalism (CRM07)
