Indigenous Health in Canada

As a healthcare professional, you know that health goes beyond the physical.

Designed for health workers and anyone else with an interest in Indigenous health, this course will introduce you to historical and contemporary issues relevant to Indigenous health in Canada. You’ll critically examine Indigenous-settler relations, focusing on how these dynamics influence healthcare delivery and wellbeing. You’ll also explore the role of traditional Indigenous healing practices and how they can complement and intersect with Western approaches.

By the end of this micro-credential, you will be equipped to provide respectful, informed, culturally safe appropriate in Indigenous healthcare settings.

This course is offered in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action. We are committed to advancing fair, respectful, and meaningful reconciliation on our campuses and in our communities.
