This course provides a comprehensive understanding of wastewater treatment processes, facilities, and the impact of untreated waste discharges. It covers hazard identification and mitigation, preliminary treatment, primary and secondary treatment processes, disinfection, lagoon operations, and laboratory techniques. The student will also learn the importance of data recording, recordkeeping, and laboratory quality control in the context of wastewater treatment.

This class is eligible for 12.0 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits through the Government of Alberta Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program.
