Equip yourself with essential skills to save lives and make a difference. Offered in partnership with PACE Centre, the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day accredited interactive workshop open to anyone looking to improve the immediate safety of individuals at risk for suicide.

Whether you are a professional working in healthcare, social services, or law enforcement or just a concerned member of the community, ASIST can help you develop lifesaving skills. Through expert instruction, an interactive environment, and real-world scenarios, you will learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide and intervene safely and compassionately.

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize warning signs and risk factors

  • Navigate difficult conversations about mental health

  • Use active, empathetic listening

  • Accurately assess risk levels

  • Develop a safety plan in collaboration with the at-risk person

  • Engage in self-care to manage your own emotional well-being
