Offered in partnership with PACE Centre, this introductory workshop explores how to help someone experiencing a crisis. This workshop is suitable for professionals working in healthcare, law enforcement, social work, and anyone else whose careers or personal lives involve caring for vulnerable people. With an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach, this course teaches compassionate and effective ways to de-escalate crises, keep yourself and others safe, and support the affected person toward healing and recovery.
Workshop participants will learn:

How to identify and respond to someone experiencing a range of personal crises, including those involving childhood trauma, sexual assault, and self-harm

Critical communication techniques for emotional de-escalation

Effective non-violent responses to physically aggressive behavior

Personal boundary-setting and self-care during and after a crisis
Learn how to offer calm, caring support while helping someone through their toughest moments.
