As Canadian communities and workplaces become more diverse, cross-cultural communication is becoming an essential skill. Offered in partnership with
PACE Centre
, the Cross-Cultural Awareness workshop is designed to teach you the skills you need to live and work in a multicultural environment. It offers a comprehensive overview of engaging with different cultures in a professional setting with a special emphasis on the cultures of Canadian Indigenous peoples.
Using a mix of social science research and traditional storytelling, this workshop will help you explore the social and historical origins of Canadian cultural diversity as well as techniques for engaging in respectful and effective cross-cultural communication. It will also offer strategies for identifying and confronting racial prejudice at work and provide an overview of Canadian Indigenous history and contemporary Indigenous issues.
