Learn essential skills to support someone experiencing a mental health crisis.

Developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and offered in partnership with PACE Centre, the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training workshop explores how to provide an effective first response to someone in mental distress.

This evidence based MHFA workshop will cover the following:

  • Different types of mental health challenges that may require first aid, such as panic attacks, self harm, psychotic episodes, or substance abuse emergencies

  • Non-violent ways to respond to aggressive or agitated behavior

  • Active and empathetic listening techniques

  • Strategies for guiding an at-risk person to appropriate mental health resources

  • Self-care during and after providing mental health first aid

By the end of this course, participants will feel more confident identifying mental health concerns, providing initial support, and referring an at-risk person to professional help.

This workshop is delivered over 2-days in person at PACE Centre. Enroll today.
