The Intermediate Standard First Aid Level C certificate is one of the most comprehensive CPR certifications designed for a broad range of emergencies. This certification is required for certain occupations in health and childcare, emergency response, and fitness and recreation. Delivered over two days in partnership with St. John Ambulance in person on NWP campus, this program covers the following concepts:

• Using Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

• CPR for adults, children, and infants

• Choking and breathing emergencies 

• Mental health first aid 

• Bleeding and burn management

• Wound care and infection prevention

• Bone and joint injuries 

• Environmental emergencies (e.g. exposure-related illness, drowning or near-drowning, contact with dangerous plants and animals, etc.)

Certification
Upon successful completion, your certification from St. John Ambulance is valid for three years.
