In partnership with BisTrainer, this online WHMIS and TDG package course provides a comprehensive understanding of both the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods within Canada.
 

In the WHMIS course, the following topics are covered:

  • What is WHMIS?

  • The six classes of controlled products

  • The eight hazard symbols

  • Roles and responsibilities defined by WHMIS law

  • WHMIS labels

  • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS Sheets)

  • Legislation and the laws that affect WHMIS

In the online Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) course, the following topics are covered:

  • The requirements for TDG training and certification

  • Dangerous goods classification

  • Packing groups

  • Shipping name

  • Compatibility groups

  • Placards and UN numbers

  • Label requirements

  • Safety marks

  • Packaging and vessel requirements

  • Requirements for documentation

  • Exemptions

  • The ERAP (Emergency Response Assistance Plans)

  • Reporting requirements

  • Containers

  • TDG schedules


Note
Total completion time is approximately 5 hours. A mark of 80% must be achieved in each course in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat each course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
Upon successful completion of each course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing through BisTrainer.
