This course provides a comprehensive understanding of wastewater treatment processes, facilities, and the impact of untreated waste discharges. It covers hazard identification and mitigation, preliminary treatment, primary and secondary treatment processes, disinfection, lagoon operations, and laboratory techniques. The student will also learn the importance of data recording, recordkeeping, and laboratory quality control in the context of wastewater treatment.
Class schedule:
- 10 Days: 45 hours of self-paced online learning, with an instructor available to answer questions.
- 10 Days: Weekday, in-person lectures and laboratory activities at NWP Grande Prairie campus.
This class is eligible for 12.0 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits through the Government of Alberta Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program.
