Learners must successfully complete the online entry program provided by Alberta Transportation and the CLP01 - Class 1 Learning Pathways - Core Learning course and successfully pass the Class 1 road test (with Alberta restriction) in order to register for the CLP01 - Competence Building Course
This course provides in-yard and in-cab lessons to ready learners to drive outside of Alberta.
There is no waiting period, learners can register immediately after successfully completing the prerequisites.
Students are required to let NWP know if they prefer a manual or automatic transmission for their training upon registration.
PPE Requirements - Boots/shoes that cover the ankle (No portion of the ankle may be showing, also they must be a snug fit or have laces); Weather-appropriate clothing (that can get dirty) - pants - no shorts unless you have coveralls; Safety vest, safety glasses, gloves.
