Understand the hidden signs and help someone start their journey toward healing. Offered in partnership with PACE Centre, this one-day online workshop will arm you with compassionate strategies to recognize and address self-harming behavior.

Self-harm involves deliberately causing emotional or physical damage to one’s self to cope with overwhelming emotions, stress, or feelings of numbness. It is not a sign of weakness, but a sign that someone is struggling and needs help.

This course addresses a range of self-harming behaviors such as:

  • Physical self-injury

  • Substance abuse

  • Disordered eating

  • Risk-taking behavior

  • Psychological self-harm or abuse

The workshop will provide an overview of the reasons that people self-harm, ways to identify and avoid possible triggers, and how to support an at-risk person in moving away from self-harming behavior. Using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, this course will help you take the first steps in addressing self-harming behavior and empowering the at-risk person to achieve sustainable recovery.
