Course Overview - 67 hours of in truck/in yard/in class learning, including 8 hours of air brakes training. Learners who already hold an Air Brakes Q Endorsement may waive this portion of the training.
Prerequisites - Learners must hold an Alberta Class 5 License with the GDL removed, must be at least 18 years old, and have successfully completed the online entry program provided by Alberta Transportation prior to taking the Class 1 Learning Pathway - Core course.
Upon Completion - Graduates are eligible to take the Class 1 road test through the Government of Alberta. Successful completion results in an Alberta-Only Restricted License. To remove the Alberta-only restriction, students must also complete Class 1 Learning Pathway - Competence Building (CLP02).
IMPORTANT – Road Test Requirements
It is the student’s responsibility to book and pay for their own road test and to meet all Government of Alberta requirements for the Class 1 road test including passing the driver's medical exam and Class 1 written test.
