Spanish Level 3 builds on the foundational grammar and vocabulary learned in Levels 1 and 2, helping students move toward more confident and natural communication. In this course, learners expand their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while exploring more complex sentence structures and verb tenses.
Students will learn to discuss past experiences, future plans, opinions, and everyday topics in greater detail. Emphasis is placed on improving conversational fluency, understanding longer texts, and expressing ideas more clearly in both spoken and written Spanish.
By the end of this level, students will be able to participate in longer conversations, describe events in multiple time frames, and understand the main ideas of intermediate-level Spanish texts and audio.
Key learning areas:
• Past tenses (preterite vs. imperfect).
• Introduction to the subjunctive mood.
• Expanded vocabulary for daily life, travel, work, and Latin American culture.
• Expressing opinions, preferences, and recommendations.
• Reading and discussing short articles and stories.
• Writing short paragraphs and personal narratives.
• Listening comprehension with authentic Spanish audio.
Outcome:
Students completing Level 3 will have intermediate Spanish communication skills and will be prepared for more advanced grammar and conversation in Level 4.
